I recently got in touch with the Developers of the former Coop site after learning that Children, some as young as 11, had gained access to the site and attempted to start fires. I requested a meeting at the site with the developers and the Police, so a joined-up effort could be made to tackle the issue. Since the site meeting was held, the developer secured the site and installed monitoring equipment to alert them to any trespassing.
Following on from the Coop incident, I was made aware of ASB in the Recreation Ground, Newbury Avenue, kicking of doors on Church Street and reports of Children running on the roof of Iceland. After raising these issues with the Neighbourhood Police team, they are now including these areas, in their targeted patrols.
It is vitally important that all incidents of anti-social behaviour are reported to the police, preferably via 101 or online via https://www.wiltshire.police.uk/ro/report/asb/asb/report-antisocial-behaviour/. If Anti-social behaviour is not reported, Wiltshire Police will not have the evidence they need, to justify targeting their extremely limited resources to where it is really needed by the people of Calne.
